Knowledge Transfer and Strengthening of Capacities in Global Change Context (Central Africa)-(KnowGlobal project)

The project "Knowledge Transfer And Strengthening Of Capacities In Global Change Context (Central Africa)-(KnowGlobal Project)" is being carried out together with the University of Dschang (Cameroon) and FODER (Forêts et Développement Rural) as partners under the consortium leadership of Otto von Guericke University Magdeburg. Funding is provided by the Centre for International Forestry Research (CIFOR-ICRAF).

The KnowGlobal project focuses on the issue of knowledge transfer in the field of forest management and climate change in Central Africa in general and in Cameroon, Gabon and the DRC in particular. Based on the literature review on stakeholders, constraints and operational difficulties in knowledge transfer on climate change in Central Africa, the project analyses NGOs, researchers, the private sector, technical and financial partners and other forest managers using the RIU model of scientific knowledge transfer to identify bottlenecks. Several categories of stakeholders will benefit from the results of this project: at the sub-regional level in particular COMIFAC and its specialised organisations (OFAC, RIOFAC), states through their sectoral ministries (environment, forestry), civil society organisations, research institutions and NGOs that are highly involved in the process of knowledge creation and transfer.
