Bioeconomy strategies in the German federal states

The project examines how the concept of bioeconomy is framed politically and implemented in the German federal states. Following the adoption of the National Bioeconomy Strategy 2020, bioeconomy is an important concept for the sustainable transformation of the economy, which is also gaining increased attention at the federal state level. The aim of the project is to conduct comparative research into the political framework conditions, priorities and conflicts of bioeconomy at federal state level and to identify important political drivers and obstacles.
Recruitment of political elites into state and federal parliaments

The dissertation examines the influence of formal-legal, institutional and social-structural characteristics on the recruitment of political elites into parliaments and government cabinets at state and federal level.
